Once you have located your C7 vertebrae and iliac crest measure the length between the two to get your torso length. The main large zippered compartment of the daypack features a padded laptop sleeve and a smaller zipper pocket for additional organization. It packs very well and you can fit a surprising amount of stuff in it while being very lightweight and versatile. The main bag doesn’t include any external accessory pockets, but does feature several external lash points for attaching additional items and a set of removable sleeping mat straps. The mesh side pockets are now deeper which will accommodate larger drinks bottles which had a tendency to fall out of the old model. If you put anything inside the bag, it becomes impossible to carry a water bottle in these mesh pockets. Travel far and light with the Osprey Fairview 55, designed to keep up with fast-moving globetrotters exploring new and exciting places. The Fairview uses bluesign approved, recycled materials throughout to provide you with a bag that's as tough as it is sustainable. You will need to detach the included daypack and place it under the seat in front of you as your ‘personal item’.

Plus, it meets most domestic carry-on requirements with the main pack overhead and daypack as your personal item for far-flung adventures. That said, I like the simplicity and how leaves it largely up to you how to organize things your own way. When product pictures of the new Farpoint got released, I saw many comments on forums comparing it to the Osprey Porter. The Farpoint 55 Trek is ideal if you’re looking for a bag that you can use for travel and potentially for trekking as well. e. when the hip belt on the the hip bone, the shoulder straps seem too far stretched down and not where they should be. The included daypack can be attached in the front, on the back, or used separately, so this is designed to be a 2-in-1 backpack system. Only used twice so far, 2 weeks in Morocco and 3 in Scotland, but this is going to be the bag I take on my year long adventure next year.

The only issue I’ve experienced is that the hip belt is a little above my hip bone, though it’s not as obvious as with other brands I’ve tried. Made from old clothing, plastic bottles or fishing nets, products bearing this label contain at least 20% recycled materials. I see what I suspect is the new version on the European site – does this seem to be the new carry-on compliant version at https://www. The Osprey Fairview 55 backpack has a lot of great things going for it but after a year of travelling, I do not think it’s the right backpack for me.The shape of the hip belt, sternum strap, and the main pack itself is designed to better fit a women’s body type. This is a good feature for travelling in areas with a high crime rate, or when you need quick and easy access to your wallet or other items without having to take your bag off your back. The reason I chose this backpack was mainly due to its capacity, the detachable day bag and the fact that it opens like a suitcase.
