Now, obviously with this being romance they're destined to fall in love, but damn do they make things difficult! Award-winning director Clover Phillips is riding high when she encounters Kit Foley; a surfer and snowboarder as well-known for controversy as he is for winning championships.

All the feelings – I mean the whole hate-love trope is so agonizingly fun to read about – great plot with all subplots making sense and creating a believeable turnout. I found there were some real adrenaline pumping moments in this book, between the characters and the descriptions of the snow boarding and the risks that the boarders take; I had my heart in my mouth at several times. Her documentary on surfer Cory Allbright is winning awards around the globe for shining a spotlight on life after his tragic accident. The story is about doco filmmaker Clover as she sets up in the enemy camp to get the real story on Kit Foley - the nemesis of the hero she featured in her most recent film. However, I would have liked a bit more time with Kit, as it's a bit silly how they could fall in love when they only spend about 1 night, a few hours on a mountain and 1 game of chess together. I had difficulty putting this book down and really felt like I have spent the last few days with her documentary team in the Alps.

Karen Swan highlights how close a journalist gets with the family they are working with as Clover spent many months living with Cory, his wife and their three sons.Wow that is one ride and a half, from being thrown under the barrel of a wave at the start, to getting some awesome amplitude and killer tricks at the end, this is on exhilarating read. I did find probably the first half of the book quite frustrating, with Kit and his team, and Clover and her team, circling around each other, with lots of simmering tension. Love, loss and redemption in the snowy Alps, make for the perfect festive read and reminded me why I always read Karen Swan’s Christmas books. Scrambling to make sense of the tragedy, his wife suggests that former surfing champion, Kit Foley is to blame and, in an effort, to chase down another winning story, Clover and her team head to the Austrian Alps to film a documentary featuring Kit.

Kit is determined to be uncooperative, fearing that they will not be objective in how they represent his side of the story. Norint viską pradėti nuo pradžių, nebūtinai reikia laimingos pabaigos; bet pradžia vis tiek bus, kaip kad nusileidus mėnuliui pateka saulė. Journalist Clover Phillips is riding high on the success of her documentary on ex-surfing great, Cory Albright - Cory had suffered a near drowning and subsequent brain injury, whilst competing. Kit è l’uomo che ha provocato il nefasto evento a seguito del quale è stato, suo malgrado, costretto ad abbandonare il surf.I loved the portrayal of the two main characters; Clover was determined and relentless, she wanted her story, and Kit the po-surfer turned snowboarder was hostile, insular and aloof.

Clover’s most recent project was about Cory Allbright, a surfer whose career ended after a tragic accident. Then, very soon after, the plot thickens, and she’s on another adventure, filming another documentary.A gripping and unusual story set in the Austrian Alps, following the life of surfer and snowboarder Kit Foley, his upbringing, dedication to the sport, and lovelife, as told by film director Clover Phillips as she tries to uncover the truth of an accident to a surfing friend Cory Albright.
